Natalie Wood Death Investigation -- Exercise in Futility

Sources in the L.A. County District Attorney's Office are scratching their heads over the Natalie Wood death investigation, because they say there's no way the D.A. is going to prosecute Robert Wagner or anyone else.

Although the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. says Robert Wagner is not a suspect, it's pretty clear -- as the last person to see Natalie Wood alive --  he's the target of the probe.

Under California law, even if Wagner accidentally pushed Natalie into the dark water ... the most he could be charged with is involuntary manslaughter.  But here's the problem -- there's a statute of limitations of 3 years for that crime, so prosecutors would have had to file charges 27 years ago.   Ditto voluntary manslaughter, which has a statute of limitations of 3 years.

The only crime for which anyone could be prosecuted is first degree murder, because there's no statute of limitations.   Remember, there are no possible witnesses other than Robert Wagner.  Short of a bizarre confession, D.A. sources say there's no chance of a prosecution.  BTW, there's a 6-year statute of limitations on second degree murder.

As for why the Sheriff is investigating the death ... one D.A. source said, "It's an exercise in futility.  I just don't get it."

Rapper Too Short: I'm Not Dead, Dammit

Despite what you may be hearing on Twitter ... rapper Too Short insists ... he's NOT DEAD.

The Internet has been on fire with false reports that the rapper died from a heart attack today -- and several pranksters have already attempted to change the guy's Wiki page to reflect his death.

But T.S. just tweeted, writing, "Stop calling my phone. I'm not dead. Been in the lab working on my 19th album."

And just to make sure, we spoke to the guy on the phone -- and we're pretty sure that settles it ... the guy's alive.

Either that ... or ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE.

Robert Wagner -- I'm a Murder Suspect ... On TV

File this under bad timing ... actor Robert Wagner -- currently the target in the Natalie Wood death probe -- will play a murder suspect on "NCIS" tonight.

In the episode, 81-year-old Wagner -- who plays Michael Weatherly's father on the show -- is arrested after police find him in a car with a dead body in the trunk.

It's pretty ironic -- considering the real-life L.A. County Sheriff's Department just reopened a 30-year-old homicide investigation into the death of Wagner's wife Natalie Wood.

Wagner's not officially a suspect -- but there's no denying ... investigators are definitely looking into the possibility that Wagner was responsible for Wood's death.

'Sesame Street' Composer Fernando Rivas -- Accused of Cuffing Naked 4-Year-Old, Taking Sex Pics

A Grammy-winning composer who worked on “Sesame Street” has been charged with making and distributing child pornography -- after allegedly handcuffing a 4-year-old girl, naked, and taking pictures.

59-year-old Fernando Rivas appeared in a South Carolina federal court yesterday -- where he pled "not guilty," according to the Charleston Post & Courier.

Rivas was arrested back in April -- after FBI agents raided the composer's home and, according to court docs, the feds claim they discovered a collection of photographs ... depicting a 4-year-old girl naked and “restrained in handcuffs and other bondage-type devices."

According to the report, cops say Rivas -- who also taught music at a local Charleston school -- admitted to officers that he took the pictures of the little girl and emailed them to two other sickos.

Rivas remains on house arrest after posting $300,000 bail.

Frankie Valli Divorce -- 'Jersey Boys' Could Cost Him Pretty Penny in Divorce

Frankie Valli -- the lead singer of "The Four Seasons" and brainchild behind the musical "Jersey Boys" -- is learning a hard lesson about marrying younger women, because his ex is trying to take him to the cleaners.

Randy Valli -- who was married to Frankie for 27 years -- has filed legal docs, asking the divorce judge for attorney's fees, but what's really interesting is how much money he makes -- and she already gets.

According to legal docs, Frankie is raking in more than $515,000 per month -- presumably a big chunk is from "Jersey Boys."

But 51-year-old Randy is already getting a big piece of the 77-year-old Frankie.  For starters, she gets $30,000 a month -- $5 grand in spousal support, and $25,000 grand a month in royalties from "Jersey Boys."

And this is interesting ... even though she's pulling in more than a third of a million bucks a year, the docs say she's getting $810 a month in public assistance.  It looks like that money is for a portion of his SSI because she's taking care of their minor children.

Hmmm.... Harvey just announced to the room he's thinkin' of a TMZ musical.

Sharon Tate -- Jewelry From Grisly Manson Family Murder Up For Auction

Murdered actress Sharon Tate's engagement ring -- the one she was said to be wearing when she was stabbed to death by the Manson Family  -- can now be yours, TMZ has learned ... if you're willing to drop at least $10,000.

According to the auction house hocking the ring, Tate's husband -- director Roman Polanski -- removed it from her finger when he was identifying her body at the morgue. He proposed to her with it in 1967.

For those who forget -- Sharon and her unborn child were brutally murdered in 1969 by followers of Charles Manson. Police were unable to determine a motive.

The ring hits the auction block on November 30th at ... along with a ton of other Hollywood and music memorabilia, including one of Madonna's bustiers and Justin Bieber's Super Bowl commercial jacket

Eva Longoria's Restaurant Beso Sued -- Worst. Birthday. Ever.

Eva Longoria
's famous Beso restaurant in L.A. is the slickest place in town ... so slick in fact, that some woman claims she slipped and fell on her ass there at her own birthday dinner.

According to a lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Luiza Boyadjian claims she went to Eva's eatery last year to "celebrate her birthday with friends and family."

Boyadjian claims she tried to get up from her chair and walk around, when she "suddenly slipped and fell due to the floor ... being extremely slippery."

Boyadjian claims she's suffered major physical injuries as a result of the fall -- including damage to her nervous system.

Boyadjian alleges the restaurant had a duty to maintain safer floors -- and she's suing for unspecified damages greater than $25,000.

JT Torregiani, a Managing Partner for Beso, tells TMZ, "The Company hasn't had a chance to review the lawsuit yet. Also, the restaurant is not aware of any incident of this nature happening in the past."

Sharon Tate's Sister Debra -- She Was NOT Wearing Ring When She Died

The Sharon Tate "engagement ring" hitting the auction block next week was NOT taken off the actresses' dead hand after she was murdered ... because she was NOT wearing any rings at the time of her death ...  this according to Sharon's sister Debra.

Debra tells TMZ ... the ring featured in an upcoming auction on DID belong to the actress ... but she gave it away to a family friend long before she was killed by the Manson family in 1969.

Debra tells us ... the ring was not an "official" engagement ring -- but rather an "unofficial symbol of her relationship" with Roman Polanski. Debra says, "The ring was not Sharon's style and she never wore it."

Debra says Polanski later gave Sharon an "official" engagement ring -- a gold and diamond band "which she treasured."

Despite the auction house's claim, Debra is adamant Sharon was NOT wearing ANY rings on her finger at the time of her death -- adding, "Because Sharon was pregnant, she couldn't fit any rings on her finger."

Sharon was two weeks away from her due date when she was murdered.

Astro Busts Rhymes on X Factor Rock Night

Like Chris Rene, Astro interpreted the theme to last night's X Factor episode as loosely as possible.

This young, extraordinarily talented rapper didn't really do rock 'n roll in any sense of the term. Instead, he stuck to what he knows/does best and brought the crowd to its feet with a take on "I’ll Be Missing You (Every Breath You Take)."

Simon made it very clear that he believes Astro "has a shot at winning this," while Nicole Scherzinger agreed: "You are ready for a $5 million contract," she said. Watch Astro in action now

Breaking Dawn Review: Light on Action, Heavy on Heart

Let's face it: you are going to see Breaking Dawn. It doesn't really matter if every critic give it a worse grade than Jack & Jill. It's really only a matter of how many times you attend a showing this weekend, not whether or not you choose to do so.

Still, what sort of expectations should you have for Edward and Bella's big day? Will it meet expectations?

Yes, says our friend, Joel Amos, of Movie Fanatic.

The wedding scene is a beauty to behold," he writes, adding that "fans will be all sorts of a twitter" as they watch this beloved couple exchange vows.

Taylor Lautner, meanwhile, "excels in capturing a man," someone truly coming in to his own, both physically and emotionally, while "living at a crossroads" due to his unrequited love for Bella.

Don't expect much action in this second-to-last installment of the franchise, but true Twihards will be happy that Breaking Dawn remains true to the book and to Stephenie Meyer's's vision.

Demi Moore Announces Divorce from Ashton Kutcher

They tried. They really did.

But Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher simply could not move past the latter's wandering private parts, as the actress announced this afternoon that she is filing for divorce.

Moore did not specifically cite Kutcher's alleged affair with a 22-year old named Sara Leal - or the fact that he was also accused of stepping out on his wife in 2010 - but one scarcely needs to read between the lines of her statement to understand the basis for this split. Demi wrote:

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."

Responded Kutcher, in a Tweet we assume was approved by his editorial team: "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Kendra Wilkinson Offers Tempered Praise For Lindsay Lohan Nude

Kendra Wilkinson has thought a lot about it, but at the end of the day, supports Lindsay Lohan's desire to pose nude in Playboy. After all, how can she judge?

“She always came off like a girl that would do Playboy so I am not really surprised,” the 26-year-old K-Dubs said of Lindsay's decision to go full frontal.

“She is almost like a hippie type of girl.”

That's one way of putting it ...

"I am so back and forth about it,” the Kendra star said of Lindsay in Playboy, where she'll be channeling Marilyn Monroe. “The one thing that I can say is that in this day and age, if you have a way to make that kind of money, then go ahead.”

Mixed, but generally positive feelings from Kendra then.

She does make a valid point. A million dollars for four days of work? That looks pretty good on any balance sheet, even if it means showing the vadge of courage.

Besides, Lindsay Lohan's got a lot of bills these days.

“If that’s what’s going to bail her ass out of jail, I mean, go for it. You never know. She could need the money to bail herself out,” Kendra hilariously added.

Michael Jackson Biopic in the Works

Michael Jackson's estate is looking to bring his life to the big screen.

With Dr. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter conviction in the past, MJ's executors have approached Ivan Reitman and Tom Pollock's Montecito Picture Company about the possibility of producing and financing a Jackson biopic.

The project would only cover certain periods of the late singer's life.

Pollock confirmed that the two sides are engaged in early talks but cautioned that there is no deal in place. A spokesman for Jackson's estate had no comment.

The estate is currently focused on Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour, so there is no rush to get the potential movie into production.

However, the fact that the estate is keen to pay tribute to the greatest entertainer of our time on the big screen should have Hollywood agents salivating.

Who do you think could play Michael Jackson on film?

Stephen Ira, Transgendered Son of Warren Beatty, Calls Chaz Bono "Misogynist"

Chaz Bono's media appearances and stint on Dancing with the Stars won over many people this fall. The transgendered son of Warren Beatty is not one of them, though.

Stephen Ira, who was born a girl named Kathlyn, is 19, and is the child of Beatty and Annette Bening. He writes a blog titled Super Mattachine. Why's he mad at Chaz?

Because Bono told the New York Times that being transgendered is essentially having a “mismatched” brain and body, akin to a “birth defect like a cleft palate.”

"I do not have a birth defect. If you feel you have a birth defect, fine. That’s how you feel. Go feel that,” Stephen wrote. “Do not put it onto me. Do not define me."

"Do not define other trans people that way unless they claim that label. It goes beyond that, though," Ira continues. "Chaz Bono is a misogynist."

"He is a trans man who seems to believe that his female-assignedness and socialization makes him immune from being a misogynist, and he is manifestly wrong."

He adds, "This man doesn’t represent our community. The next time you hear Chaz’s name brought up in a conversation about transgender issues, point out the things he says about surgery, ‘birth defects,’ and women.

“Because I don’t want a single person thinking this guy is the best of us."

Fun fact: Chaz's mother Cher dated Warren Beatty back in 1962!

Nikki Reed Talks Breaking Dawn and Russian Tattoos on The Late Show

While her castmates jetted over to London this week for the Breaking Dawn premiere in that city, Nikki Reed was a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman.

And viewers learned a great deal about the actress during her interview. For instance: did you know she's in the process of removing a tattoo from her wrist? Or that she speaks Greek? Or that she home-schooled herself? Or that she's married to former American Idol singer Paul McDonald?

Okay, you probably knew that final tidbit. The artist makes a cameo during the following video, as well. Sit back and get to know Nikki a lot better right now:

Thomas Brodnicki on Selena Gomez: We're Chosen by God

While charges against Thomas Brodnicki have been dismissed, the man who made threats against Selena Gomez is currently in police custody, undergoing a psychiatric evaluation. And for good reason, too.

This is not a stable individual.

Prior to being snatched up by authorities, Brodnicki talked to TMZ on the streets of Los Angeles and rattled off a disturbing rant that included the following excerpts:

Selena Gomez and I are the holy chosen ones of God... I'm not overly concerned if I meet [Selena] in the flesh because it may be like scripture says ... 'No man has seen the face of God' ... Maybe us being together is too much like seeing the face of God.

One of my favorite scenarios is [Selena] flies out here on March 23, 2016. We start seeing each other, and we don't even touch each other for a month.

Gomez has a restraining order in place against Brodnicki. He claims he'll respect it.

‘Glee’s’ Jane Lynch feels bad for Brett Ratner

Brett Ratner got into a lot of trouble recently for saying a gay slur during a Q&A, but ‘Glee’ star Jane Lynch doesn’t think it was that big of a deal.

Lynch recently stood up for Ratner who stepped down as producer for the Oscars, claiming that she feels bad for him, states E! News. “I feel bad for him. I wasn’t offended. I’m OK,” Lynch commented.

The actress seems to think that the situation and quote got a little blown out of proportion: “I think humor is such a personal thing and you put a microphone in somebody’s face, they’re going to say something that offends somebody.”

David Fincher talks “Dragon Tattoo” and film’s Oscar chances – AWARDS ALLEY

David Fincher knows his way around the Oscar dance, having just maneuvered the lengthy awards season last year for his brilliant “The Social Network” and ahead of that for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” So when asked if he thought his upcoming picture, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” has Best Picture aspirations, he bluntly explains that it doesn’t … and why.

“There’s too much anal rape in this movie,” Fincher jokingly points out. “I think we’re very safe.”

The director was talking to about his “Tattoo” adaptation, which hits theaters on Dec. 21. And while he says he isn’t necessarily pushing for Oscar, he understands that these things tend to work themselves out on their own.

“When it came to ‘Benjamin Button,’ I wanted it for Brad [Pitt] more than Brad wanted it for himself,” Fincher tells the site. And for “Social,” he lobbied for screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and star Jesse Eisenberg.

“I thought that kid f—ing brought it, and I was incredibly thankful to be able to be there and record that performance. It’s an exceptionally brave and tremendous performance. When a movie is celebrated in whatever way, I think it’s bad form not to engage in some way, because people shower you with goodwill. It seems only polite to acknowledge it and be thankful for it. And then there’s 90 percent of it that is, ‘If you’re going to do this Q&A, you have to do this Q&A. if you’re going to do this, you have to do that.’”

“It’s an incredible drain — a cosmic drain,” Fincher continues. “Because you have to be on your best behavior. Every little weird facial tic that you may already have is now going to come under weird scrutiny on f—ing YouTube.”

The man gets it. Whether Oscar responds to his latest is undecided, but you have to admire Fincher’s candor, as always.

Jonas Brothers reunion may be around the corner

Jonas Brothers fans might be wondering what is going on with the guys, but it seems they might not have to wonder for long.

Kevin Jonas recently revealed that a reunion of the brothers might be in the near future, states People. “My brothers are performing Broadway. Nick is doing [the Broadway musical] ‘How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.’ Joe’s all over. My wife and I just moved back to New Jersey, which of course is on the East Coast, which means we’ll all be together,” Kevin said about the guys finally being in one area again.

And while nothing is set in stone, Kevin thinks the chances are god: “I think the tides are perfectly lining up for the future of the Jonas Brothers again.”

Justin Timberlake opens up about Marine Corps ball

Justin Timberlake attended the Marine Corps ball this weekend after being asked by Corporal Kelsey De Santis, and now he is talking about the experience.

Timberlake recently revealed that he was surprised at how nervous and humble his date was, states People. “I have to tell you, it’s not every day that I meet a 23 year old girl and she’s more worried about if I’m having fun or if I’m comfortable! It hit me all of a sudden that these were the type of people that look after us and our freedom,” Timberlake said about being “blown” away by his date.

Timberlake also added that he felt very proud to be at the event as it gave him a chance to meet his heroes.

Kim Kardashian is back to blogging for fans Kim Kardashian may be stressed out abut her divorce drama with Kris Humphries, but that apparently isn’t enough to keep her away from her blog for too long.

Kim returned to her blog to send out a thank you to her many loyal fans, states “Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank you guys for all your support these last two weeks. I took a break from blogging for a while, but I’ve missed you guys so much and I want to start sharing my updates with you all again,” Kim wrote on her blog.

Kim has been getting back into the public eye as she stepped out with her family for a 16th birthday dinner for Kendall Jenner.

What do you think about Kim’s situation?

Meryl Streep is “astonishing” in “The Iron Lady” – AWARDS ALLEY British press who got their first look at “The Iron Lady” yesterday are praising Meryl Streep’s performance as Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher while gently condemning the movie, as a whole.

Writing for The Guardian, chief critic Xan Brooks says Streep “is the one great weapon of this often silly and suspect picture. Her performance is astonishing and all but flawless; a masterpiece of mimicry which re-imagines Thatcher in all her half-forgotten glory. Streep has the basilisk stare; the tilted, faintly predatory posture. Her delivery, too, is eerily good – a show of demure solicitude, invariably overtaken by steely, wild-eyed stridency.”

No surprise. Sight unseen, Streep was determined to be the cream of this film’s crop, if only because you largely can say that about EVERY Streep film.

Most of us paying attention to Phyllida Lloyd’s pending biopic wondered if it had the weight to compete in additional categories outside of Best Actress. Is it a Best Picture/Director combo? Can Jim Broadbent work his way into the Supporting Actor race for his portrayal of Denis Thatcher?

It’s unclear at this point. All we know is that Brooks calls it “a movie that gives us Thatcher without Thatcherism. ‘The Iron Lady’ … opts for a breezy, whistle-stop tour through the unstable nitroglycerin of Thatcher’s life and times. The tone is jaunty and affectionate, a blend of ‘Yes Minister’ and ‘The King’s Speech,’ fuelled by flashbacks that bob us back through authorised history.”

“Breezy” and “jaunty” don’t suggest Best Picture contender. We shall see.

Michelle Williams talks transforming into Marilyn Monroe

Trying to play an icon like Marilyn Monroe isn’t easy, but Michelle Williams took on the challenge and is now explaining how she did it for ‘My Week with Marilyn.’

Williams recently revealed that a major part was getting her body and body movements just right, states People. “I wasn’t watching what I ate, let’s put it that way,” Williams said about getting her body to be like Monroe’s.

Director Simon Curtis admitted that Williams also got Monroe’s signature walk down: “[A]n awful lot is Williams’s understanding of the way Marilyn walked, and the way Williams herself took on the wiggle.

Robert Pattinson talks Kristen Stewart wedding dress ‘Twilight’ fans are getting excited to see Kristen Stewart in her wedding dress as her character marries Robert Pattinson’s character.

Now, the actor is revealing what it was like filming that scene, states People. “I’d seen her in the wedding dress, but pretty much everyone in the cast hadn’t seen her,” Pattinson said about the anticipation.

With that, the viewers will get to enjoy genuine reactions from the cast: “So when she’s walking down the aisle and everyone turns around to her, it’s genuine curiosity because there was so much secrecy about it.”

Which scene are you most excited about?

Woody Harrelson, “Rampart” get one-week qualifying run – AWARDS ALLEY Woody Harrelson started receiving raves for his searing performance in Oren Moverman’s “Rampart” right after the film world premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Certain Oscar bloggers have been championing Harrelson’s inclusion in the Best Actor race, a category that appears to be relatively crowded with assumed nominees like George Clooney (“The Descendants”), Jean Dujardin (“The Artist”) and Brad Pitt (“Moneyball”).

Millennium Entertainment believes in Harrelson, and the film. They’ve scheduled a one-week qualifying run for the police drama at Laemmle’s Sunset 5 in Los Angeles beginning Wednesday, Nov. 23. “Rampart” then will open wider on Jan. 27, hopefully with some awards heat.

“Rampart” reunites Harrelson with his “The Messenger” director for a story of police corruption on the LAPD. The Oscar nominee plays Officer Dave Brown, a Vietnam vet and a Rampart Precinct cop who isn’t opposed to crossing the lines of decemcy if it means maintaining his reputation and “hero” worship.

Moverman directs his modern noir from an original screenplay by James Ellroy (“L.A. Confidential”). The hard-hitting thriller co-stars Robin Wright, Sigourney Weaver, Ice Cube, Ben Foster, Ned Beatty, Steve Buscemi, Cynthia Nixon and Anne Heche.

Felicity Jones cast in Warren Beatty’s Howard Hughes biopic Felicity Jones gives a raw, heart-on-her-sleeve performance in Drake Doremus’ Sundance hit “Like Crazy,” one which has triggered a breakthrough year for the young actress. While she has stayed busy acting prior to “Crazy,” the young-lovers drama is kicking open new doors for the fragile actress.

Warren Beatty, for example, has cast Jones as the female lead of his planned Howard Hughes biopic, Deadline reports. The Hollywood icon will direct the as-yet-untitled biopic from a screenplay he wrote. Jones reportedly will play a young woman who falls for Hughes’ driver before eventually moving on to the eccentric millionaire.

Deadline says that Beatty’s deep into the casting process, and might be considering Justin Timberlake for the role of Hughes. They also add that parts could be carved out for Annette Bening, Alec Baldwin and Owen Wilson, to name just a few.

Beatty’s film would begin shooting next year. Jones, meanwhile, recently wrapped filming another film with “Crazy” director Doremus. And she’s hoping to get some traction in the ongoing awards race for her tender, vulnerable “Crazy” turn.

Here we have exclusive video of Jones accepting the New Hollywood Award from Doremus at the Hollywood Film Awards, held last month at the Beverly Hilton.

Lady Gaga Fans Continue To Bully Adele on Twitter

This year's MTV's Video Music Award nominations started off with a great deal of controversy. While Lady Gaga was up for 3 different noms for "Born This Way," she was out-nominated overall by both Katy Perry (who earned 9) and Adele (who received 7). This is a far cry from the previous year when Gaga earned a whopping 13 nominations and as such, her fans have since been out for blood at the injustice. And the singer's devoted little monsters continue to prove just how deep their loyalties lie by further lashing out against Adele on a cruel joke Twitter bender.

The two women are up for the most coveted award in the music industry - to become the bestselling artist in the world and it seems like Adele is quickly gaining momentum, which doesn't settle well with Gaga fans. They have harshly attacked the British singer and her weight via the social media site for receiving greater recognition than their Mama Monster. Several unsettling comments were made, but some of the most hurtful included, “Adele probably ate Lady Gaga’s other nominations” and “CONFIRMED: Gaga will not be wearing the meat dress at the 2011 VMA’s because she is afraid Adele will eat her.” Mock videos of Adele were also made with a fake singer belting out "I'm bootyful in my own way because Arby's makes nooo mistakes, I've got the right order, baby, I was born this weight."

Basically, these little monsters are turning into real monsters and it's not pretty. It's incredibly disturbing since this embodies the exact opposite of everything that Lady Gaga stands for. Gaga is all about welcoming new talent into the music industry and encourages up-and-coming artists of all ages and sizes. Additionally, she is completely anti-bullying and even launched a Born This Way Foundation to help speak out against the violence and hurtful actions, so I can only imagine how disappointed she will be to learn her fans are now part of the problem, not the solution.
